Kelsey "Roach" Ookami -  The unofficial head of the group of psychos; only answers to Roach unless her parents are nearby.  A 5’6”, 19 year old hockey-obsessed werewolf, she’s adopted (mother is Michiko, father is Ryusuke,  older sister is Yuriko, kid brother is Kouji) and her true origins are unknown; however, she knows her first name is the one given to her by her biological mother and by looking around, she’d realized from a very early age that she was not, in fact, of Japanese descent.   She’s a diehard Blue Jackets fan and she supports her high school team as well. She plays bass in Chad’s band Senseless Violence and played hockey in high school , and Chad was the one who nicknamed her Roach after seeing for himself that she injures herself in ways that should kill her on accident roughly 15 times in any given week but survives.


She’s the only one allowed to call Chad by his given name, and she refuses to do so when there’s more people around than just the two of them. Despite the age difference, Kelsey  has fallen fairly hard for her friend and bandmate, but she won’t broach the subject with anyone; if someone is unfortunate enough to bring it up, they get shouted at and shut up very very quickly, usually with a threat to knock them down and tap dance on their scrotum.  As indicated by the previous sentence, Kelsey has fairly severe anger issues and a general distaste for humanity; but she’s the one her friends up turning to for advice, an ear to listen or just general support, much to her irritation.


However, she’s had people abuse this for their own purposes and in part because of that has turned cynical and distrustful. Is pretty much constantly sarcastic and cracking jokes; suffers from clinical depression and has had the occasional round of suicidal tendencies spring  from it. She doesn’t show  or discuss her feelings much  (bar her anger, which comes out whether she wants to hide it or not, and she usually doesn’t) and hides her true feelings behind the mask of humor. Has a loathing for all things feminine and/or romantic. Has ADD and regularly cracks jokes about it, so it very obviously doesn’t bother her. Is intelligent far beyond what people think at first glance, but is fairly uncomfortable showing it. Also is uncomfortable with being thrust into the spotlight or a leadership position. Disgustingly lazy. Loves rottweilers, boxers, beagles, labs, cocker spaniels and mixes of any of these.  

Appearance-wise, she’s overweight, pale with extremely curly shoulder-length dark reddish brown hair , reddish eyes and a large chest (the latter is something she's very touchy about).  Her hobbies include reading pretty much anything (especially manga), gaming, attending Blue Jackets games and sleep. She’s never seen without a messenger bag, her iPod and a white top hat with a black band which Kelsey jokes was ripped straight from Serj Tankian’s closet.  Wears men’s clothing almost all the time.  Cites her musical idols as Tobin Esperance, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, Nikki Sixx, and even though she doesn't play drums, John Dolmayan and Tony Palermo.


Despite being adopted, Kelsey has never had a desire to find her biological family.  To her, her family has done so much that she doesn’t need to know who her parents really were. Yuriko is age 25 (she’s in grad school and is staying at home because it’s free for now) and remembers a time without Kelsey and once hated her, but she’s adjusted and even though the two are quite different, they get along very very well now. Kouji is 12 and was obviously accidental. He idolizes Kelsey, much to her discomfort, and tries to emulate her in a lot of things. He play hockey because she did, and plays goalie on the high school junior varsity team even though he’s only in sixth grade. Kelsey enjoys his company because he can talk hockey with the best of them. Michiko, more commonly referred to as “Mom” or “MOOOOOOOOOOM! MY BASS/HOCKEY STICK/MAKEUP IS MISSING AGAIN (which item is missing depends in which child is talking),”  is a very polite woman in public but can be as big of a smartass as Kelsey in private. Ryusuke is quiet and understanding, and seems to be tuned to peoples’ feelings. None of Kelsey’s adopted family are werewolves, but they love her all the same.  Is the adopted cousin of Shigeru and Shizuka Otori; Ookami is a stage name and her given surname is Otori.


Dakota “Chad/Kota (only by Kelsey and only in private)” Mason-  A 6’4” 28 year old human who could be descended from just about anything with pale skin; it’s very hard to tell due to his dyed hair, which is currently black and worn in dreads that fall to his shoulders, the fact that he usually wears contact lenses to disguise his eye color, and most of his torso is covered in tattoos.   When his hair is left alone, it’s a shade of brown that borders on black with some wave in it and his eyes are a dark shade of gray-blue and he usually has a bit of stubble growing on his chin due to laziness and a lack of desire to shave.  

He and Kelsey are friends who met through a psychotic ex-girlfriend of his and an ex-friend of Kelsey’s, and they found out very fast they had similar taste in music (Mudvayne , Dope, Papa Roach, System of a Down, etc.)  He cares for her more than she realizes, but he has the same inability to discuss it.

Less lazy than Kelsey and usually ends up annoying her into doing whatever she was supposed to be doing in the first place and doing it better than she’d intended.

Personality-wise, Chad has fairly severe mood swings between disgustingly happy and raging maniac psychopath headcase, making Kelsey suspect he’s bipolar. When the mood swings leave him alone, however, he’s fairly good-natured if a bit of a smartass, despite what his appearance suggests. He’s by far the smartest of the group, and one of the most compassionate.  He’s the guitarist and backup vocalist of Senseless Violence, which has been getting fairly  big recently, and sings lead on  occasion.  Hates his first name with every fiber of his being (to the point where he’ll introduce himself as Chad Mason) and nobody bar Kelsey is aware of what it is. Hobbies include sports, writing music, writing in general and painting. Cites his musical influences as Serj Tankian, David Draiman, Edsel Dope, Chad Gray (from whom his nickname came from), Jacoby Shaddix, Daron Malakian and Jerry Horton. Loves pomegranate vodka.
